MIPIM AWARDS: give your support for the ‘Waalse Krook’

MIPIM, the world’s leading property market and real estate event in Cannes (FR), will take place this year from the 10th to 13th of March 2015. A-RES, joined with partner ADVISERS, will once again attend this edition.



This event will also celebrate the MIPIM Awards, which honour on a yearly basis the most outstanding, and innovative real-estate projects around the world in eight separate categories


For the 2015 edition, the jury received 150 nominations from 37 different countries out of which the urban regeneration of Ghent’s historic city-centre was selected as a candidate in the category ‘best urban redevelopment “.

This urban regeneration with as lead-project the ‘Waalse Krook will compete for the first prize against the likes of Marseille (Boulevard Euroméditerranée), London (Elizabeth Olympic Park) and Tokyo (Toranomon Hills).

The development of this city quarter, the future “The Krook” integrates the construction of the new City Library and New Media Center and is commissioned by the CVBA Waalse Krook (City of Ghent, Province of East Flanders, Ghent University, iMinds).It also integrates a housing project commissioned by the city-development agency SoGent, as well as different infrastructure works such as the quayside renovation and the realization of two new bridges for pedestrian and cycle traffic.

Since 2009, A-RES supervises and coordinates this innovative project as project manager and senior official, representing the CVBA Waalse Krook.
A-RES is hereby joined by the firm ADVISERS as quantity surveyor.

As can be expected by its most fierce local guardian, the Waalse Krook and with it the entire urban renewal of our home city Ghent is a development we particularly cherish.
